What We Provide
Socialization Program
All puppy buyers are required to volunteer at least one evening of puppy socialization. The socialization period is between 5 and 7 weeks of age. Please read "Critical Periods" before working in our socialization program.

Personality Testing and Matching
With the interaction we have with our prospective puppy buyers and their answers to our Questionnaire, we have gathered much information about the buyer, their family, lifestyle, what purpose they want to use their puppy for, and the type of personality they feel would compliment their family and lifestyle. Our puppy buyers have the opportunity at the orientation program to see the puppies at 6 weeks of age and fill out a form indicating three (3) puppies that they like. We strive to match them with one of their three choices based on the personality tests that are compatible. However, there is no guarantee that they will get one of their three choices if someone else is higher on the wait-list than they are.

Open Door Policy
We believe that as responsible dog owners and reputable breeders, we should
have an open-door policy for our buyers. Therefore, we are available during
the day and early evenings for placement issues and on-going support for our
puppies and puppy buyers. There are a few ways that you know that you can feel
confident that we stand behind this policy: we are available for questions
/ assistance by telephone and/or e-mail; and have educational articles on our
web site. Further, we believe it shows the commitment to our dogs that we have
stayed active in the breed since 1989. The average "breeder" only
stays around for about 5 years. Obviously, if we have been around since 1989,
you can be assured that we will be available to you for any questions or concerns
that you may have after the purchase of your dog.
Puppy Packet
Over the years, we have developed a very information puppy packet which includes
a reading list, pictures of the sire and dam of your particular puppy, information
regarding AKC, etc. Please follow this link
to the puppy packet to see all that is included. We do not just hand you
a puppy, take your money and never see or hear from you again.
Written Contract/Guarantee
We offer a written contract/guarantee on
all the puppies that we place. This contract outlines our responsibility
to you and your responsibility for the care of your new companion. Please keep
in mind that the main purpose of this contract is the protection of the
health and well-being of the puppy.
Training Recommendations
The trainers that we recommend are ones that either we have used or our puppy buyers have used. This is a starting point for you, please feel free to contact them and see if they provide the type of training that you are looking for (i.e., basic
obedience for a well-behaved companion, show obedience, etc.). Follow this link to recommended Trainers.
Training Rebates
We strongly encourage our puppy buyers and their new puppy attend obedience
classes as it assists them in bonding, socialization with other humans and dogs,
and better manners. We offer a no strings attached rebate program. Just attend
a six to eight week obedience class (puppy kindergarten excluded) or a six
to eight week obedience / protection class. Classes must be taken with a certified,
or licensed instructor and you must be given a certificate of completion. Send
us a copy of such certificate and we will send you a check for $50.

Placement
During the socialization period for the puppies, the puppy buyers on our wait-list
are required to come to our home on at least one evening (or a time during
the day) for puppy socialization and to have a meeting regarding the placement
of the puppy. At this time, information will be exchanged, questions can
be answered, the puppy packet will be given to the buyer, and the buyer can
spend some time interacting with the puppies. For more information
regarding our expectations and placement program, please follow this link.
Micro-Chip
As an added service, we micro-chip the puppies during their last vet check
at about 7 weeks of age. The purpose of a micro-chip is that if the dog ever
got loose and it ends up in either a shelter or at a veterinarian's office,
the dog can be scanned and the micro-chip number can be traced back to you.
This is a permanent identification and the micro-chip number is registered
with the Companion Animal Recovery program (with the AKC) who maintain the
owner information. Micro-chipping is no more painful to the animal than getting
a vaccination. We believe this service is invaluable in keeping our beloved
animals safe. Please follow
this link for more information on the Companion Animal Recovery program.
